I am featured in the new issue of Tidskriften OPERA!!

I sat down with Louise Fauvelle in sunny Barcelona during my rehearsals at Liceu and we talked all about Turandot, my upcoming Brünnhilde in Stockholm and the incomparable Birgit Nilsson.

The role of Princess Turandot herself is not new to her. She has participated in so many sets of the work that she has long since stopped bringing the notes.

“I think I’m up to over 120 shows and I’m probably one of those who has sung the most Turandot in the world, that is, of us who are still active. Someone the other day wrote to me on Facebook that there is no Swedish who has done this role as often as I do – after Birgit Nilsson.”

Själva rollen som prinsessan Turandot är inte ny för henne. Hon har medverkat i så många uppsättningar av verket att hon sedan länge har slutat ta med sig noterna.

“Jag tror att jag är uppe i över 120 föreställningar och jag är nog en av dem som har sjungit flest Turandot i världen, det vill säga av oss som fortfarande är aktiva. Det var någon häromdagen som skrev till mig på Facebook att det inte finns någon svenska som har gjort den här rollen så ofta som jag – efter Birgit Nilsson.”
